Meet the Team
Dori
Dori Gladden is a fashion designer, entrepreneur, stylist, teacher, and mother, who has traveled the world designing for over 30 years. Originally from Los Angeles, Dori now calls the Bay Area home and has worn many hats in the fashion industry, from corporate environments to running her own label. Dori has studied fashion design and pattern-making at FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising) and ESMOD (Paris, France), laying the foundation for a successful career. Her launch of "Camp Fashionista" in 2011 allowed her to share her passion and inspire the next generation of designers.
Chrysanna
Chrysanna is an “artist of all trades” who has loved all things crafty as early as she could hold a pencil. From sewing to sculpture and design to illustration, her goal is to try every art form, and to share the passion of creating with others. She earned a degree in Fine Art (Mixed Media) from Scripps College in 2016 and has been working at Camp Fashionista ever since! Her favorite hobby is sewing clothes for herself and her loved ones, and her favorite classes to teach are intro to machine sewing, fashion illustration, and anime drawing.
Favorite sewing project: Wedding attire for her and her husband
Taylor
Taylor is living proof that it’s never too late to learn a new hobby and find a new passion! Only a few years ago in 2023 was she introduced to sewing by her best friend since fourth grade, Chrysanna, and without a clue of how much she’d fall in love with it. She quickly worked to expand her knowledge through courses at the Fashion Design and Apparel Technology program of West Valley College, and by challenging herself with a variety of different projects and techniques. She is proud to have brought the first knitting classes offered at Camp Fashionista, and has also picked up crochet and embroidery since her time here. Taylor would never have imagined herself here earlier in life, but absolutely loves being able to teach both young and old the joy of creating something from nothing.
Favorite sewing project: dress as a wedding guest
