CAMP DETAILS

If you've never used a sewing machine, then this is the camp for you!  This is a pre-requisite for all other camps on the sewing machine.

In the morning, you will learn to:

• thread the machine

• wind a bobbin

• make a rolled hem on your baby blanket while you get used to a 5/8" seam allowance

• learn to pin correctly and sew in the round on pillowcases

• make a casing for your drawstring bag ( this is the same way you make an elastic waist)

These skills lay a strong foundation for you to build on with future sewing projects. Come away with a flannel baby blanket, a pillowcase, and a drawstring bag in your choice of fabrics from our awesome collection. Campers can free sew and make additional projects once these are completed.

In the afternoon, We’ll show you how to bring your ideas to life on the page with instruction from a real fashion designer who’s used these same skills in the industry. Learn about the different types of clothing and fabrics and how to draw them.

Each day we’ll cover a new topic, from tops to bottoms to dresses. Use what you’ve learned to design and draw your very own outfits! Learn about color and shading while using colored pencils and markers.
