CLASS DETAILS
For every adult who wants to take your sewing skills to the next level! Take a few mornings for yourself—we’ve prepared all the materials you need.
Now that you know the sewing basics, let’s use them for something practical! Have you always wanted to create your own clothes that fit perfectly? This class series will start you on your way.
Using patterns is a fundamental skill to sewing your own clothes and accessories, but it’s not always easy. Have you ever bought a pattern from the store, but were too confused or overwhelmed to follow the pattern instructions? You’re not alone!
We’ll help make it easier by breaking down the important parts of a pattern, and what all those esoteric glossary terms really mean.
You will learn how to accurately measure yourself, and use those measurements to find your size and fabric requirements within a given commercial pattern.
At the end of the class, students will come away with a pair of pajama pants with an elastic waistband that FITS, as well as an understanding of how to read and use most commercial patterns.
Even better, we will learn how to add pockets to a garment that does not come with them! Who doesn’t love pockets??
Have a sewing machine collecting dust in the closet? Bring it in and we’ll get you up to speed so you can finally put it to use at home. The hardest part is starting—let’s do it!
