In this 4 part course you will complete Level 1 sewing
and learn the fundamentals of good sewing skills such as
learning the parts of the sewing machine & their function, being able to thread the machine by yourself,
wind a bobbin, practice straight stitching forward and reverse, pivot corners,
learn good pressing habits, measure accurately with a seam gauge, sew a neat hem,
and make a drawstring casing.
You will have plenty of practice time to really feel confident in these skills, as you create
a baby blanket, pillowcase and drawstring bag.
Level 2 will build on these skills.
Learn to Use the Sewing Machine - age 7 - adult
It's more a question of readiness than age.
You're ready to sew if you can:
tie your shoes in a neat bow, color inside the lines, and write your name in all same sized letters.
This is
the first step in my brand new 4 level sewing curriculum. You must
complete this lesson to become familiar with the sewing machine, and
start level one classes. We will cover all parts of the sewing machine
and their functions, such as the foot control, presser foot, take up
lever, stop position, feed dogs, tension control, and the hand wheel.
You will learn to thread the machine and wind a bobbin as well as sewing straight seams both forward and reverse.
There's plenty of time to practice the fundamentals and build a solid foundation.
Leave with confidence knowing you're on your way to self- sufficient sewing,
and making fun things!
