and ESMOD (Paris, France), laying the foundation for a successful

Darcy Fowkes
has been
sewing for over 40 years and has made her own
patterns for over 20. She began designing and publishing in Altered
Couture Magazine in 2008 and has been hooked on recycling new and
gently used clothing ever since. In addition to teaching recycled
fashion classes at Camp Fashionista, she has taught Altered Couture
(recycled) designing at Eddie's Quilting Bee and participated in
informal Altered Couture round table discussions at the Peninsula
Wearable Arts Guild. She sells her recycled clothing at select
boutiques throughout California.

Wesley Brando
is a self-taught artist
and has had her own jewelry business for the past twenty years. She
specializes in collecting antique and vintage glass beads and studying their
histories. With the support of her family and friends, Wesley has been inspired to restyle yesterday’s beads into modern, more
wearable and timeless fashions. She enjoys custom-designing the
perfect pieces for (or with!) someone who appreciates their beauty and
sentiment. In addition to jewelry making, Wesley has spent the past five years teaching preschool and elementary-age children. She also enjoys teaching jewelry-making skills to adults and children. Wesley believes that, with encouragement and gentle guidance, anyone can be an artist!
